The Head of Delegation of the European Commission in Latvia was hosted in Rēzekne municipality

Zane Petre, head of the European Commission's representative office in Latvia, had arrived in Rēzekne municipality. At the time of the visit, Zane Petre met with the management of the municipality of Rezekne and the council, surveyed projects implemented by EU funds, including Maltas High School and Lūznavas Manor, and participated in the support event held by Europe Direct East Latgale for the Ukrainian people.

With representatives of the municipality of Rezekne and the representatives of Europe Direct East Latgale, it was discussed about the current experience of attracting EU funds to project implementation. To date, the municipality of Rezekne has used various EU programmes in the implementation of projects such as ERDF, Erasmus +, Creative Europe. Further use of EU funds and investment opportunities in Rēzekne municipality were also highlighted.

Visiting AT Maltas High School in Eriropa Commission Representations in Latvia, it was possible not only to see the school but also to get acquainted with the basics of robotics. Maltas High School was among the educational institutions involved in the project “Establishment of a network of technology integration specialists in school interest education —“ INTEGRA ”. This project was implemented through the Erasmus + programme. During the project, students have gained practical skills in the use of technologies. The knowledge gained during the project is currently being transferred to others.

At the end of the visit, visitors participated in the support event held by Europe Direct East Latgale for Ukraine. In the event, the Ukrainians shared knowledge and advice on how to prepare traditional meals – boring, pamphlets, miracles, and shooting with a circle. The participants with musical performances were pleased by the children of Ukrainians who had been used to the Rēzekne municipality with their parents. Ukrainian civilians, their friends and supporters, students of the Rēzekne PII “bitite” and teachers participated in the masterclasses, which were led by Maria Kuzmenko.
