Bats in Lūznavas Manor Park

When the autumn is painted IN THE Firewall of Lūznavas and Razna National Parks, the  Financed project approved by the Latvian Environment Protection Fund “Establishment of a bats living school IN Lūznavas manor and park area” (Project registration No 1-08/15/2021).

In order for the special animals, “night flying mice” - bats - to learn a wider range of society, so that the stakeholders can explore the species of bats and their lifestyle, so that they can understand the role and significance of bats in natural processes and understand the need for the protection of these natural values, the creation of the “bats of bats' living school IN Lūznavas Manor and Park territory” is planned to establish bats in the area OF Lūznavas Manor and its park, offering groups of different ages with the school/training method to identify and understand the lifestyle of bats, promote their protection and the elimination of negative stereotypes in society, as well as promote interest and awareness of bats in society, and promote interest and awareness of bats as a whole, and promote interest and awareness of bats as a whole, and promote the interest and awareness of bats as a whole, and promote the interest and awareness of bats as a whole, and promote the interest and awareness of bats in general and promote the conservation, existence and survival of bats in the future.

Within the framework of the project activities IT is planned to perform the study of THE Lūznavas Manor Park and the surrounding bats and their habitats in the nearest Razna National Park. On the basis of existing research on bats in Latvia, and by integrating the results of research carried out in the project, to develop daily and night schools/training for educational material school age children and adults, as well as to prepare an informative e-booklet (in four languages – Latgalian, Latvian, English and Russian) about bats in the territory of the Razna National Park and Luznava, thus ensuring the education of the public regarding the unique night animal – bats, one of the few mammals who have adapted to fly (the mouse, who has blessed and given the wings for good behaviour). Within the framework of the project it is planned to organise the training of the society and prepare at least 20 mentors, who will be able to continue informing the public and educating on bats in the Nature School Lūznavas manor after the project period.

The project will also improve THE supply of Lūznavas manor tourism infrastructure by creating an exhibition of 16 species of bats in Latvia and an interactive game of bats for different age levels. It is planned to purchase 10 ultrasonic detectors for the research of bats in night training and a park to create a mobile outdoor class that will provide a more convenient organisation of the public training process, as well as to install the small architectural form – a bats sculpture IN Lūznavas manor park.

The results of the project will activate the public interest in living nature, directly, the spread of mystical, unlikely animal bats in Latvia and elsewhere in the world, their diversity and lifestyles, habits and significance and places in harmonious natural processes, protection and related problems and solutions today. The activities to be implemented in the project are in accordance with the Nature Protection Plan of the Razna National Park.

A project from the Latvian Environment Protection Fund budget sub-programme “Environmental Protection Projects” has been granted funding (amount OF 90% from the eligible costs of the project) 23 532,00 EURO.
