Velo route “around Latgale Sea” No. 783 (about 50 km)

Lake Rāzna – the second largest, by volume of water – the largest lake of Latvia (405 mln m3 or approximately 1/5% of the total volume of Latvian lakes). It is called the “Sea” of Latgale. The average depth of the lake is 7 m, a maximum of 17 m. The waters of Lake Razna are surrounded by 10 islands, all located in the two large bays of Lake R and Z, in Zosnasgals and Dukstigals. There is currently no other lake in Latvia with a relatively diverse tourism and recreational offer. Several recreational and bathing sites have been established on the shore of the lake.

Rāzna National Park - Latvia's latest national park (founded in 2007) is located in the historic municipality of Latgale, also known as “Blue Lakes Land”. One of the goals of creation is the preservation of Latvia's waters richer - Rāzna lake, the richest islands of Ežezers and other waters, the landscape of Latgale, and the preservation of the cultural environment

The route “around Latgale Sea” is approximately 50 km long.

The route is intended for active and sporting towlers. It includes all the perimeter of the Lake Rāzna Lake and the most interesting attractions of its surroundings. From Lipuški to Zosnai, the gravel road stretched along the shore of the lake. It even seems to be at one level with the lake water level. The coastline of Rāzna lake is mostly kidneys. In the area of Lipuški and Zosna, there is a good look and a wide range of water, which at the end of Zosna is interrupted by the back of several of the trees on the trees. The fowls, in the Foļvarkovas – Vilkakroga have a beautiful look at Rāzna Lake and the Cloud mountain on the opposite shore, which is well above the closest surroundings. From Kaunatas to Lipuški, there is a parking lot, even about 10 high. There are two well-equipped public beaches at Lake Rāzna.
