“100 fish on the hook!” – angling competition in Sherjans

24.08.2018

Sports

By the time of Latvia's centuries, all events are more or less aligned with this important and beautiful event. The fishermen of Strujan parish, as a joke, expressed the idea that a hundred fish could be fished. It arose in the summer copes motto “100 fish on the hook!” and the sixteen gamblers, the hardest and most experienced fishing masters in the delicious August full-stag, Neptune showed great favor when the Rēzekne river was fished not only by a good catch, but also a “centennium carp”, for which almost half an hour of the river was struggling or the whole family.
The carp really turned out to be a trial, a weight of 5, 093 kg! Lucky owner – Aivars Laganovskis. The fish did not give up without fighting, and as Aivars said, “... if it was not the help of wife Anita and daughter Ligita, the big carp would be swimming up in the River Rēzekne, with all my fishers...”
The other fishermen were also very pleased with the catches, both in terms of quantity and size and weight. The new generation of fishermen who did not catch small catches on the nearby shore were well lucky.
1 st place for Aivars Laganovsky (5.510 kg), 2 nd place for Christapam Groznij (5, 412 kg) and 3 rd place for Jānis Višam (4, 505 kg).
In the category of children, Valentine Zuck (1,397 kg), Sergey Georgia (1,045 kg) and Karlim Kalneay (0,706 kg) were best placed in the category of children.
The winners of the prizes were awarded with diplomas and memorials, and the promotion prizes were also received by other nominations.
Garda was a fish soup on the shore of the Rēzekne River, with which all the participants in the competition, Anita Laganovska, Ligita Laganovsky, Janis Visha, Aivars Laganovskis, Alexander Georgenov, Grigory Kalinin, Kristaps Groznijs, Elgar Razgalis, Sergei Geornov, Vitalijs Juks, Maxime Kurmevs, Valentin Juks, Raivis Basulis, Karlis Kalnejs, Arnolds Anufrijevs, and Adrians Civkors.
Thank all the passionate fishermen for their membership, the azar and the struggle. It is a pleasure that this active recreational form brings together not only fishermen, but also has become a sustainable tradition in many families, when not only the catch but also the working and sincere time of the coexistence.
The centennial carp is definitely the biggest role in the record between Sherjan parish fishermen at least over the last ten years, so NOT IN THE future, and to be successful in the next hundred years.
