Project objective: Establishment and promotion of an international, local-based tourism route. The route includes the survey of the lives of the famous engineers living in the XIX century Latvia and Russia and the examination of their engineering inventions. It is a completely new tourism product that will be created within the framework of a cross-border cooperation programme and will promote cultural, scientific and historical links aimed at attracting tourists in border regions. The area of impact of the project is Latgale region in Latvia, Pleskava and Leningrad areas in Russia.
Project implementation time – 01.12.2019 – 31.05.2021. (18 months)
Funding 
The total budget of the project is EUR 456 455,00. The co-financing of the project is EUR 410 809.50.

Main project activities: 
Project activities include the creation of a tourism route “following engineering ideas” in Latvia and Russia. The project will explore THE activities of Lūznavas manor owner, railway engineer and professor Stanislava Kerbedza (1810-1899) in these countries, creating a new tourism route - Rezekne municipality (Lūznava), Pleskava district (Pļussa), Leningrad district (play). Tourists will have the opportunity to see the objects created and restored during the project, as well as to meet the performance of the clock master Pāvela Buré (1810-1882) and the underwater designer Nikolai Kudrjavceva (1857-1900) in Pļussa and the play.
