Sakstagala young people implemented the project “recognize Sakstagala parish”

IN Sakstagala parish, the creative work project “recognizes Sakstagala parish” was implemented. The objective of the project was to promote the recognition of THE parish OF Sakstagala and to promote the innovation process among the population, strengthening the national identity and the cohesion of THE parish society OF Sakstagala. The task of the project was to create a wooden souvenir FOR THE parish of Sakstagala parish through the funding of the municipality of Rezekne, attracting THE creative ideas of Sakstagala.

In the framework of the project financed by the municipality of Rezekne, 25 wooden souvenirs were made in the form of an oak leaf composed by local artist Edgars Matisans. THE project also involved Sakstagala young people who, during the summer training course, generated ideas about THE recognizability sign OF Sakstagala. The young people expressed a lot of different ideas with which they relate TO THE parish OF Sakstagala – another it associates with John Cutter's school, the museum “Colnasate”, another oak planted by John Clyde, who still stands the school yard. The brilliant Latvian writer Janis Khalis oak at his first school in 1991, visiting his mother's house. The oak leaf for young people seemed to be one of the symbols of THE parish OF Sakstagala, thus creating oak souvenirs in the form of an oak leaf.
