Latvian tourists were presented with Latgale tourism offer

From 9 to 14 January in the international tourism exhibition “Vakantiebeurs 2018”, representatives of the city of Utrecht Latgale tourism association “Ezerland” promoted the tourism offer of Latgale region.
This year, Latvia advertised itself with the new slogan – “Magnetic Latvia” (“magnetic Latvia”), replacing the previous slogan - “Best enjoy slowly” (“unhurried rest”). The visitors of the exhibition were most interested in active tourism, Latgale gastronomic offer, as well as their interest in getting to Latgale. A pleasant surprise was that many Dutch people said that they had already been in Latvia, including Latgale. The main travel transport of Dutch tourists is still a kemper. When you select a route, they try to include all three Baltic States.
The exhibition “Vakantiebeurs”, the name of which is “holiday stock exchange”, was held for the 48 th time. More than 108 thousand visitors have visited it. The average age of visitors is 51 years and, according to questionnaires, 73 % visitors are linked by European countries. It is also interesting that the average duration of the exhibition is 4 hours, which confirms that the big travellers' people - the Dutch - offer a great deal of care.
The Dutch Tourism Association “Ezerland” (Sanita Pinupe - Livana District BELIEVES, Inese Martinkus - Preilu District), Daugavpils Mark Rootko Art Centre (Inita Paegle and Baiba Prieditte), and Riga Tourism and Development Bureau, Liepāja and Kurzeme Tourism Association, Vidzeme Tourism Association with the offer of cycling tourism, tourism cluster “Enter Gauja”, Gulbenes tourism agency and Latvian campsite association.
