For young people

From 23 to 25 July, 10 Sakstagala parish young people spent three days working together at the new youth centre in Ciskiada. As a result of the youth inventory project financed by Rezekne, various games, novels, table hockey, bombs, puffs and cutlery have been purchased, which contributed to the participation of young people in leisure time and the development of non-formal education.

The purpose of this camp was to promote active leisure-time travel among young people, to develop autonomy and confidence in their abilities. The young people played a variety of games during the camp, there was an organized competition along the Ciskades and surroundings, where young people had to focus on the map, learn new places, and perform different tasks and “hard nuts”. This activity broke young people and encouraged team work.

The camp was also visited by a volunteer girl from Germany Leah who helped to organize the camp and promote intercultural communication. Many young people, in contact with volunteers, understood that English is very important today and the language needs to be learned and practised!

On the second day, we went on a trip to Ruijin, where we spent the day at the lake, playing both volleyball and badminton and the favorite youth game mafia.

Evenings were spent fun and actively, the young people lay in the tents, playing the silent show, singing karaoke, watching the movies. We all made ourselves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was fun to get the cold soups of the big boilers, the cept sausages. We made a fire, cooked potatoes.

The third day of the camp was also spent actively assessing his abilities in Daugavpils Tarzan Park. Some young people could also make a more difficult “black trace”, which was particularly difficult. In Tarzan Park, young people could challenge themselves and test their forces, overcome their fear of height. This gave pārliecību to himself and his forces.

Thanks to the funds allocated to the Rēzekne municipality for youth activities IN Sakstagala parish, for which this camp was organised and the food was purchased, as well as thanks TO THE Sakstagala parish administration, who supported this idea, the organisation of camp and co-financing for the bus, who delivered young people to Tarzan Park in Daugavpils.
