29 years ago, the events of barricades took place in Riga to defend Latvia's independence. The children of the children were active supporters of these events, so there is a tradition of meeting the 1991 barricades defenders, meeting together to remember the events of that time and tell our new generation.
On the afternoon of 23 January, students, teachers, Bērzgales and neighbour parish residents gathered on the event at Bērzgales. This time, the crowd of barricades had been overrepresented. There were: Arthur Gailums, Arthur Lukst, Ludwig Luke, Andris Barkans, Anton Grizans, Vladislav Barrot, Juris Skruļs. At the beginning of the event, the participants spoke AT Bērzgales parish management head Arvīds Dunsky, who was also a participant in these events and an active supporter. An interesting surprise was that Elita Tripan, who shared his story of those days and experiences, also participated in these events as a student.
It is not a chance that this time, when we remember the time of the barricades, we talked about the legend of the press house, the awakening personality of Kazimir Dundura. Kazimir is a children of children (born Bērzgales parish in Micanos), and in his time, the museum has given his memories of a press-house so anxious and important time-1990/91, which is the time of baricades and August. Aivars, the son of Casimir Dundura, who shared his memory of his father as a very strong and economic personality, had come to the event. Aivars told her about his father's memories of January 2, 1991, when the omonians took a press house and Casimir dundurs was arrested.
On the other hand, the second visitor of the event, Juris Saukanes, shared memories of the time of Latgale television (LTS) and the August of August, when it was the only broadcast television in the country for a moment.
The event expanded as an hour of living history, which gave the opportunity to look again at the events of the barricades and to obtain new knowledge and knowledge from each of the participants in the event.
