On the evening of 22 January, the children of the children gathered in the school sports area to remember the 1991 barricades.
This year, his memories of that long winter were shared by children Edgars Belinskis. Edgar was in the Soviet armies in Poland at that time, but he was home on vacation in January. Then there was a question of what to do? Stay home or return to service? The times were restless, ignorant, and the family decided that Edgar had to return to the service. Fortunately, the time of service went to the end and Edgar returned home in May. In August, the restless times followed, with Edgar, along with the children of the children. When the National Guard was established, Edgar entered.
Currently Edgars Belinskis is the commander of the 32 nd Introducer Battalion of the National Guard, so the conversation is about the National Guard. Edgar told him how he could join the National Guard, how this service is organised, which the national guardsmen do.
We celebrate the 100 anniversary of the Latvian Army this year. Edgars told about the origins of the army in Latvia at the 20.gs of Latvia.
When he enjoyed hot tea, Edgar had to answer various questions. Soon, the talks from history moved into a clean political and living thing today in Latvia.
