Dainis Rutulis derives from Gaigalavas the “Exselenium smudder” title

On April 1, 2014, on April 1, 2014, the Riga Latvian Society's house, an anecdox swirl – an anecdox contest for children and young people, in which four pupils from Rezekne municipality were represented by the municipality of North Latgale. Each member of the final shall be given the names of a small, large, great or Exselenant smudder in accordance with the criteria for the evaluation of the tender. 
49 children and young people from 8 to 18 years of age who are interested in the oral tradition of the People and are actively anecdotic stories in various daily or festive situations participated in the competition. Students may be members of folklore groups who receive folklore in school, interest-based educational groups. There were 36 participants in the classes 1-6, while there were only 13 members in the 7-12 age group.
Three students from THE Rikavas primary school performing in folklore together “Moses Rykova” (head teacher Iveta Dimzule) took part in the anecdotal competition. The 9 th grade school student, Indrixon, won the title “little smith”, while the title of “big smudder” was awarded to the 9 th grade school students Victoria Kukarel and Snijan Kurenkova. The highest rating from the jury was made by Gaigalavas primary school student Dainis Rutulis, who works in the school folklore together “Purineņš”. Rasma Igaune, the leader of the group, and the Dainis himself were delighted of the “Exselenium smudder” title.
As at the end of the competition, there were 532 anecdotes that did not repeat. We also call on other children and young people to continue the restoration of narrative traditions by participating in the oral tradition. Let us build a positive sense of humor and anecdotic narrative skills among our young people!
