The annual meeting of the Europe Direct Information Centre (EDIC) staff has already become a tradition, taking place in the Rēzekne District and the city that year. The seminar was organised BY THE ESIC in Eastern Latgale joint forces with the European Commission's representation in Latvia and the European movement in Latvia. Representatives from Europe Direct Information Centres in Daugavpils, Gulbene, Jelgava, Liepāja, Riga, Valmiera and Ventspils participated in the informative and creative two-day seminar.

In addressing the participants of the seminar, the Head of the Communication Unit of the European Commission in Latvia, Yelena applola, stressed that THE ESIC staff had an opportunity to study continuously – both at the European Union's home in Riga and in various conferences and seminars in Brussels. “But this time in August is just to strengthen our overall spirit of cooperation, to develop our creativity and to discover ourselves.”

On the day of the day, the staff of Europe Direct works in municipalities, part of the libraries, and another part in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, further developing the business area. “Information centres are very different,” said Andris Gobiņš, president of the seminar programme, “European Movement in Latvia”, “so it is very important to acquire new knowledge, share ideas and take over the best experience.”

On the first day of the seminar, the participants talked about the most interesting events and works that have recently been implemented in their information centres, as well as taking part in creativity and inspiration activities UNDER the direction of Chairman Vita Brakowska. “The regions of Latvia have fantastic start-up capital and unique ideas, only be able to look and everyday from another and see new opportunities,“ discovered Vita Brakowska. ”The lecturer taught him to“ put his mind in swings ”, or learn to play with ideas and not be afraid to be different, but at times when disbelief comes to his own strength, remember the words of THE U.S. Patent Board, Charles Duel, in 1900:“ all that could be invented is already invented ”. Since these words, in the past hundreds of years, have been innumerable new inventions, there is no doubt that more and more new discoveries are expected in the future.

“New ideas like ancient spaces” – says the Finnish people's saying. Bearing in mind this claim, the second day of the seminar was organised AT Lūznavas Manor. There was an opportunity for participants to check and improve their capabilities in resolving conflicts and complex situations, together with the founder of the interactive theatre “boat”, Ilzi Mazpani, playing forumtheast. The idea of a forumtheast created by Augustto boala is to give word to the oppressed and societal challenges – discrimination, inequality in work, racial prejudices – to speak like playing theatre and feel suppressed or suppressed “in the skin”.

Within two days, THE ESIC staff also had the opportunity to assess the major works that the Rēzekne municipality and the city managed to implement by attracting European Union co-financing, including a watercourse centre BEACON, Lūznavas Manor, Latgale embassy GORE and the creative service centre ZEIMUĻS.

At the end of the seminar, the participants took home not only new knowledge and ideas, but also a sense of security that without each information centre, a small collective is also a large ESIC family who can always ask for advice or help in difficult situations.
