Education

With the care of the Center for Forestry Consultation Services (MPKC), Feimaņu primary school students had the opportunity to improve the knowledge of forest, its management and the riches of the forest within two days.
The educational lesson “Welcome forests together with SIA Bergvik Skog” took place on 15 June AT Feimaņu parish forest farm “railways”. It was directed by MPKC Brice and SIA SIA “Skogssallskapet”, Deputy Head of Latgale District, Edgars Silkāns.
The pupils were involved in a forest-conscious hiking along the forest, practically acquiring new knowledge of the forest. All were very active in carrying out the tasks.
Using the circular plot method, they carried out the measurement of the plots planted by trees and determined that the number of plants required for 1 ha had been 2500.
The enthusiasm was in the process of dasting - the measurement of wooden tubes with a special device - the dastor, learned to determine the height of the pine of the growing (20 m high) pine with the help of the heartbeat and the age of the young pine trees, to count the annual spruce and pine strains, to recognize the native trees and bushes, to observe the damage of the forest animals, to perform other tasks.
Each tried to use reforestation-planting tools in operation, work with hand-held blades, planting barrel, Koļesov spear, plum blade, Swedish drill.
A picnic was organized at the end of the lesson, a puzzle, an interactive game “forest”. The pupils' passion persuaded that the educational lesson in the forest was interesting.
With THE financial support OF MPC on 26 June, Feimaņu primary school pupils went on an educational trip - training excursion to Vidzeme.
The first object of the survey was the Tych Nature Reserve (Madona municipality), which is the largest intact of human activity in the Baltic (1600 ha area) with protected flower plants, parasites and moss.
In the guide, we went in a 3 km long excursion along the Silda Nature Trail. While walking through the courtesy, we watched the sphagna moss covering the Spilves, or the frogs, the blueberries, the bears, the porcine, the cranberries, the witches (insect plants), and the small, scattering trees, the pine trees and the swamp Berzins.
We also visited a completely different object - Kalsnava arboratum (dendrarium), the second largest collection of trees, bushes and lians (total area 143 ha, growing around 2500 diversity). We found that arborate is recognised as a specially protected nature area and is managed BY Latvian state forests.
We looked at the peonial garden (approximately 200 donations of peonies), the hopes garden, the rododendra forest, the vines, the conifers, the low-form plantations, we went to the labyrinth of the Tooes, climbed into a 25 m high-view tower, looked at various rare and unusual plants such as tulip tree, snowflap tree, wig tree, Amura cork tree, etc.
We met in the Gardens of Vincenka (a municipality of eagles). The farm is engaged in the breeding of wild animals and birds in captivity. A number of hundreds of European stalks, fallow deer, muflona. A large variety of forest ducks, pens, pheasants, quail, chickens, rabbits, etc., also saw an African ostrich.
A hunting and natural museum with a wide collection of hunting trophies, supplemented by exotic animal and bird showberries, was a special interest. We also saw a 200 ha of licensed shooting gallery where Europe-wide shooting competitions take place.
Before going home, we practiced our feet by climbing and climbing from the highest terrain point in Latvia - Gaizinkalna.
The opportunity to survive emotions and improve knowledge, the opportunity to know, feel, see and understand developments in various natural environments, thanks to Valdai Bricey with his spouse, Edgar Silkan, the driver Sergei.

Impressions were shared by the Prince.
