Gaigalavas primary school entered the “Latvian veneer” competition “green class” in the final

On July 8-9 of that year “Abragciems”, Engures parish, “Latvijas Finieris” will take place IN the “Latvian Finieris” annual school youth competition “green class”. Students of primary school age from all Latvian schools could participate in the competition. The following Latvian schools: Aizputes High School, Bay primary school, Blyden primary school, Ciblas High School, Dagda High School, School of Drug High School, Gaigalavas primary school, Primary primary school, Limbazi 3 rd secondary school, Mairane Kalpaka primary school, Mezvids primary school, Main School of Pastende, Riga State 1 st Gymnasium, School of primary school, and Siksnis primary school. This year “Latvijas Finieris” invited pupils to collect their land by studying the principles of good and sustainable forestry.
At the end of the competition, 160 pupils, including Lithuania and Estonia, will participate in the competition, as there are also “Latvian veneer” plants in these neighbouring countries.

Every year, increasingly new actors from different regions have confirmed that this event has a future. ”
Since 2001, “Latvijas Finieris” is organising competitions for pupils aimed at encouraging interest in the forest sector and promoting awareness of the importance of forest values in the form of quizzes, awareness and entertaining activities. The closing of the competition is traditionally held at the Abragciems campsite, one of Latvia's recreational areas where the blue flag.

In 2013, the turnover of eur 187 million has been reached, the number of employees in 2300. The main activity of Latvijas Finieris is the manufacture of birch plywood, sale, product development and provision of related services to customers. The birch plywood is used in various areas: construction – internal and external walls, floors, scaffolding, platforms, concrete moulds; in the transport industry – for trailers, bus and coach floors, trailer walls and ceiling cladding; shipbuilding.
