Griškānu parish administration will be managed by Janis Alexanis

On 17 December, the Rēzekne District Council, with 16 Members voting “for” and one deputy vote against “against”, was confirmed by John Alexandre as head of the administration of Griškānu.

Janis Alexandre Griškānu parish has been living in Janopolis for five years and has worked as a member of the People's House of THE nearby Čornajas. John has received a degree in environmental protection from the University of Rezekne with the qualification of environmental engineer. In recent years Janis Alexanis has been actively involved in writing and implementing various projects – together with the association “Today – tomorrow”, the projects “Čornajas village improvement and improvement of the quality of life of the population” and “skani, my language, the artist's village over Rezekne municipality”, while the project “Purchase of the People's suits and footwear FOR THE folklore community OF the People's House” has been implemented with the association “Lake of Razna Lake”. “The future parish manager has learned the training programme of labour protection, the training of the trust person, as well as the project management courses. He has also been active in cultural life so far, including he is a founder and a member of THE“ Auscara ”group of 1 TP24T.

As a cornerstone of THE development of Griškānu parish, Janis Alexanis mentioned the preservation of business and parish infrastructure, particularly the improvement of roads, the preservation of local cultural heritage, the activation of cultural life and the work with young people: “Griškānu parish is a lot of young people, but for the time being, they have not been able to prove their skills and abilities. There is a need for a leader from among young people who could encourage the participation of other young people." Similarly, John Alexandre emphasized that it is important not to concentrate everything in the village of Sprudzs, but to ensure that the services provided by the parish administration as close as possible to the place of residence are also received by the residents of the rest of the parish.

It should be noted that the candidates in the competition for Griškānu parish administration were nominated on 24 November AT Griškānu parish meeting. Both documents submitted by applicants – higher education, official language knowledge and evidence of formal qualifications – and the development strategy OF Griškānu parish were then evaluated. On December 8, applicants had to execute a test which examined their knowledge of regulatory enactments regulating the work of local government and parish administration, the organisation of procurement, the prevention of conflicts of interest, the implementation of projects, as well as the general knowledge of THE parish of Griškānu and the Rēzekne municipality. In order to be objective, applicants must complete the tests and submit the development programme anonymously. After the Commission assessed the results of the test and the development programmes, the three best performers were invited to work on an interview. After negotiations, two bidders – Ivars Arbidan and Janis Alexanis – were put forward for evaluation at the meeting of the Territorial Permanent Committee. On December 10, the committee moved Janis Alexander to the position of the head of the parish administration OF Griškānu.

As previously reported, a new Griškānu parish manager is being searched because the former manager Irene Gjibovsky has returned to a recreation after 19 years of work IN Griškānu parish administration. On December 21, pl. 15.00 Griškānu a meeting will be held in which citizens will be introduced to the new manager.
