Introduction to the Presidency of the European Union

On the afternoon of July 3, the Central Library of Rezekne, in cooperation with the Europe Direct Information Centre in Eastern Latgale, called for a event that could meet one of the European Union's countries - Austria. From 1 July to 31 December, that State will fulfil the duties of the PRESIDENCY of THE EU. During the Presidency, Austria will focus on security and migration issues, as well as the need to ensure prosperity and stability in neighbouring countries through digitisation and competitiveness.
The Presidency of the Austrian Presidency is a “Europe that protects”. The host of the event Jekaterina Moiseyeva - a teacher, a member of the association “youth suitcase” - had prepared an interesting presentation on Austria. Yekaterina spent half a year studying at one of Lincent's universities under ERASMUS +. There was information on both the possibilities of study in Austria and the history, traditions and culture of the country. The participants of the event could also enjoy the traditional Austrian pie - apple fountain. In an informal atmosphere, several of the participants shared their stories about the impressions of traveling through this beautiful country.
