II Latgale's new amateur championship is well started by the new athletes of Rezekne.

     On Saturday, October 24, the Eastern Latgale creative service centre “Zeimuļs” took place “II Latgale new amateur championship in fast chess”, in which 47 pupils from Rezekne, Jçkabpils, Award municipality and Rezekne municipality took part. The chess was divided into three groups. Our chess started in two of them.

U-10 tournament Among the 18 players, the main prize with 6 points in seven games was won by Jekaterina Smirnova, 5,5 points and “silver” for Martinam Belavskim (Rēzekne BJSS), 5 points and 3 rd place. Igor Ivanov (Rezekne (BJSS) from Maltas.

U-15 tournament In the middle of 22 games, the main prize with 7 points in seven games was won by Janis Vilnirags, 5 points and “silver” for Liana Stulpina, 5 points and 3 rd place for Edgar Klimovič (all from Jçkabpils sports school). Our new chess from Maltas Edward Schtekel and Laura Antane (both - Rezekne Municipality BJSS), until the last round were among the prize bidders, won 4 points in intense competition and took 8-9 th. This is also a very good success.

All prize winners were awarded with ARPC “Zeimuļs” diplomas, medals and amazing awards.

The next royal fans are expected on 7 November of that year to the 2015 Open Championship of Rezekne, who will be organized IN Maltā.
