Warm sand room built in the ilzeskaln
Rēzekne Municipal Authority “Nautrēnu parish association“ unit Ilzeskalna parish administration for the rural development programmes of Latvia financed by the Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development ”19.2.“ Implementation of activities under a community-led local development strategy ”in activity 19.2.2. Within the framework of the“ site potential development initiative ”, the project“ Creation of the warm sandroom in Ilzeskalns ”was implemented, supported by THE LEADER project competition launched by the“ Rēzekne District Communities Partnership ”.
IN THE territory OF Ilzeskalna parish administration, a multi-functional building belonging to the municipality of Rezekne is located, in which a pre-school educational institution is located, (a special programme for students with mixed development disorders is implemented in the institution), the day centre of the association “home” “provides a hand”, the children's toy room of the association “Irbites” and a trainer hall. The entrance to the building is tailored to persons with special needs.
Saturated information flow, dense social communication, contamination of sound environment, in children lead to increased stress background and vegetative nervous system overload. Overload disrupts the balance in the body of people, especially children, by reducing its self-regulation abilities. The activities of warm sand have a health-enhancing and the overall development of the child. Activities in the sand room will help to implement the “special” socio-pedagogical adjustment of children's behaviour, establish meaningful communication between children and adults, among peers, as well as strengthen the immunity of children. According to the latest scientific research, sand is not only a universal toy environment and mysterious natural material, but a special substance with non-renewable energy, as well as a great psychoprophylactic product. They absorb water so, according to Parapsihologu, they are able to absorb the negative energy of the people and stabilise the emotional state.
Citizens are experiencing problems in the day-to-day reception of social services. The municipality sets out objectives which contribute to the extension and development of the range of services and to enable the provision of services to vulnerable persons - children and children with special needs.
The implementation of the project Ilzeskalna in the pre-school educational institution has been adapted and repaired, the warm sand equipment (1 kit) is purchased and installed, as well as knowledgeable specialists are prepared to manage the activities.
The objective of the project is to expand and improve the range of social services of the local government by ensuring the continuous operation of the warm sandroom and the provision of quality services.
By realizing the project, there has been no innovation in THE parish OF Ilzeskalna - the warm sand room. Project target 1 TP38T parish and socially vulnerable persons living in THE entire TERRITORY OF THE VRG (children and children with special needs, already from one month of age). The introduction of innovation will contribute to improving the living standards of the population, complement the range of social services and ensure that they are accessible to vulnerable persons.
Total cost of the project is EUR 18773.15, eligible costs of EUR 14628,90, public funding of EUR 13166,01
