The idea of a jazz festival AT Lūznavas in Manor began in September 2018 when Jānis Ivanova Rēzekne's music secondary school was formed by a jazz music division, which was managed by jazz musician, composer Tom Lipsky. He had the idea of making a jazz festival at Luznava when he started his work in Latgale, taking the artistic leadership of the future festival. In the summer of 2018, AT THE END OF the Lūznavas “Kulturys škiuni”, there was a jazz festival concert “jazz” in two concert programmes. Presensation, highlighting the time and place of the festival. Unfortunately, in the autumn, Tom went prematurely, but by honouring his work and sending the festival to his memory, the motto “continued!” “In August 2019, THE first Baltic jazz festival“ Skiun jazz ”was held at Lūznavas Manor. The festival's ideas and the beginning of the festival will also be determined by the festival's artistic leader Lauris Ainvs. Follow-up to the ideas that started, the continuation of jazz music, the continuation of the experience of the experienced jazz musicians to the young will also be this year.
In anticipation of this year's festival, Lūznavas Manor Iveta Balzer says, “despite this difficult time, we are used to jazz Luke-nava as well this year. The first Baltic jazz festival in August of last year proved how much joy and inspiration can be found in shared musicisation and freedom provided by jazz music. We believe that the new musician's spine, the experience of teachers and the responsive applause of visitors will also fill this summer at Lūznavas in Manor!”
