First competition of THE INTERREG EUROPE programme 2014-2020

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development (VARAM), which is an interregional cooperation programme OF THE European Union's “European territorial cooperation” programme INTERREG EUROPE contact point in Latvia, informs that THE first competition of THE INTERREG EUROPE programme 2014-2020 was launched on 22 June.

INTERREG EUROPE is a European territorial cooperation programme aimed at improving regional development policy and the implementation of related programmes, encouraging the exchange of experience and ideas as well as policy learning among participants.

The beneficiaries of the programme shall be the State budget institutions, the derived public persons financed from the State budget and the institutions, municipalities and foundations established by them, associations and foundations. The private sector may participate in projects with its own funding.

Project applications may be submitted by 31 July 2015.

The programme is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). THE ERDF funding available for the programme projects during the 2014-2020 programming period is EUR 322 500 000.
