On October 20, a competition for secondary school students “with the heart in Rezekne municipality” took place for a fourth year. This time, his knowledge of Rezekne's municipality was examined by eight secondary school teams – Dricana Secondary School, Tiskad High School, Nautrene High School, East Latgale High School, and two teams from Maltese and Kaunas High School.

In order to find out which team is best placed in the history, culture, geography and recent events of Rezekne, the pupils had to respond to the questions of the Rēzekne municipality's interest education specialist Anita Ruth, such as who is the author of the Rēzekne municipality's moto “the other half of the world is not around the world”, as the island is in the Lake of Razna (10), in which the parish is located in Velnala, also known as the small Star of Nautraga (Nautro parish). Some of the questions about their school and parish were prepared by the pupils themselves to ask them. Similarly, students had to recognize cultural historical objects in the parish of Rezekne municipality. Also in this task, the pupils were lucky, but one object – Luznava Manor – was recognized by all the teams. As the participants themselves acknowledged, the greatest difficulty was the recognition of a significant number of people after photographs.

In an intense competition with 25 points, the 3 rd place was won by the Tiskad High School team, 2 nd with 30 points – the Maltese High School I team, while the victory laurus with 31 points flowed from the Eastern Latvian Technology Secondary School team, who took part in this competition for the first time. The team was composed of Cindy Kalvane, Santa Latiseva-Chudare, Karlis Orenis and Victoria Samule. Although the Central School of Eastern Latvia is located in the city of Rezekne, all the members of the team are from the parish of Rezekne novada – Gaigalava, Lendi, Nagles and Dricans. The winners told them that when they were preparing for the competition, they read the homepage of Rezekne's municipality, and each was learning about a topic – another about culture, another – history.

An erudition competition cycle for pupils will continue as early as November 15, when the competency of “my Latvia”, success and knowledge of our country will be checked by the team of primary school pupils of Rezekne.
