“My Latvia” won Nautrēnu secondary school team
On 13 November, while waiting for the day of independence of the Republic of Latvia, traditionally Rezekne and Viļānu heads of primary schools were gathered in the municipality of Rezekne, in order to identify the best and most knowledgeable team in the Rēzekne game “my Latvia”. This year, 15 teams took part in the competition, which led to seven contests, including, examining their knowledge of Latvia's history, culture and sport, trying to recognize Latvian melodies, as well as filling in the Rēzekne municipality passport, or answered questions about the Rēzekne municipality.
The participants acknowledged that one of the most hostile issues in the Rēzekne municipality was: “the largest city in Rēzekne municipality”, because only the rare knew that the municipality of Rezekne was one of the few municipalities in Latvia, as there is no city in the area: “let us know now that the city of Rezekne is a separate administrative area, while Malta is not a city but a village,” admitted the pupils. However, there have also been questions that Erudinth young people knew the answers without the smallest mention, for example, that the author of the Rēzekne municipality is Normunds Zušs and that the largest lake in Rēzekne municipality is Razna.
In order to compile the results, it became known that in 3 rd place, Maltas 1 st secondary school team ranked with 15.5 points, 2 nd with 17 points – the team of the Verham Basic School, while the honest 1 st place with 21.5 points was won BY Nautrēnu secondary school team (Elvita Kotāne, Arnolds Gailums, Armands Ivolans, Arnita Juraj, Kaspars Dorthanns).
The white pupils received Skraver's sweets, books, magazines “illustrated history” and “illustrated junior” from the publishing house “daily magazines”, as well as cuffs and pens with the symbolic of Rezekne municipality. The winners also had a special prize – an aproce-USB memory with “♥ in Rēzekne District”. It should be noted that “♥ Rēzekne Municipality” is not only the most recent popularity of the slogan, but also the name of the next erudition competition, because on 26 November, in the municipality of Rezekne, high school teams will meet in order to find the most knowledgeable team in response to various questions about the Rezekne municipality.
