Latgalian folk songs and jazz

In the framework of the Latgale cultural programme for 2020, with the support of the Latgale Region Development Agency, the State Culture Capital Fund and A/S “Latvian State Forests” in the month of May, a Bērzgales parish cultural association “Victoria” project “Implementation of the Latgalian people's songs jazz apdars” has been launched.
The aim of the project is to promote the promotion of the values of Latgale cultural environment through the extradition of the album of the Latgalian People's Song jazz. The idea of the project is to create a melody of Latgalian folk songs and the joining of jazz music style in the sounds created by future musicians – Jurģa Lipska, Ralph Arbidan and Kristiana Justa.
As part of the project, the young people of the Latgalian People's Song Song are to be created. In this way, the ancient melodies of the People's songs will obtain the original sound and will be created for a new style of music – Latgale etno jazzz.
The funding allocated to the project in the amount of EUR 1500,00 will be spent on the creation of five Latgalian People's Song jazz finders and the music album production service. Following the implementation of the project in December of that year, the album of the Latgalian people's songs jazz will be placed on the music streaming site “Spotify”.
