Education

Every working and self-employed person from 25 years to 16 April may apply for training in the European Union (EU) adult education project “Improving the professional competence of employed persons”, raising their professional competence and competitiveness. In this round of login, training is available in 12 different economic sectors in 38 cities and districts of Latvia.
Learning opportunities throughout Latvia
In total there are 392 educational programmes in the following sectors: catering services and tourism; manufacturing of electronic and optical equipment and ICT; metalworking, engineering and engineering; transport and logistics; wood; energy; construction; manufacture of textiles, clothing, leather and leather; printing and media technologies; chemical industry; culture; food industry and agriculture.
As the project can only be learnt once, citizens are invited to make informed choices and to examine carefully the content of the selected educational programme before logging, to meet the schedule and instructors of the planned activities, and to find out whether the learning of the selected learning needs knowledge and other relevant information. Group assembly and training are planned for the second round in June.
The training is available in 68 educational institutions throughout Latvia, where the application must be presented at the selected programme. The largest number of training is available in Riga - 138 educational programmes. Outside Riga, the wider range of courses is Daugavpils-91 programme, Rezekne, where 43 programs are available, and Liepaja where 30 programmes can be learned.
From new skills to profession
A variety of types of learning programs are available in the project, which also depends on the duration of the training. Workers can learn 291 non-formal education programmes, 28 professional development programmes and 73 vocational training programmes.
A qualification certificate and one of 30 professions may be obtained at the conclusion of vocational further education programmes. They include a cook, a mechanic, a stitch, a technician, a conference, a tourist and event specialist, a carpenter, a librarian, a logistical employee, and many other professions.
In the first round of the project, 4015 people took lessons and 2480 workers had been completed. Among them, there is also an electronic commerce sales specialist in July's will, who learned the non-formal education programme of digital marketing. “Ecommerce is developing very rapidly and it is important to learn and expand its knowledge, because today, now and now it is necessary to understand what will happen tomorrow, so the learning process must be continuous. The knowledge acquired is already in work – it is a benefit not only for me but also for the company,” says July.
Various types of support are available in the project
As the majority of the training costs are covered BY EU funds and the country, only 10% co-payment, which can also be paid by the employer, should be provided to citizens. Low-income and poor training is free of charge. They also have access to regional mobility - compensation for transport costs if such expenditure is incurred during training. Workers with disabilities may, on the other hand, qualify for reimbursement of the costs of the assistant or surrogate interpreter. An informative support of adult education coordinators, which operates in 76 project co-operation municipalities, is also available.
In the case of high number of applications, specific benefits are given to workers aged 45, 7, 8 and 9 in the professions of professions, such as service and trade workers, qualified workers and craftsmen, equipment and machine operators etc.
The list of training and educational institutions offered in the second round, as well as the modalities of the application, documents and other practical information shall be available at www.macibasaugusajiem.lv.
