Liga Street Festival in Cloud Mountain

Since September 18, 2017, the project “Establishment of industrial sites for the promotion of entrepreneurship in Rezekne City, Rezekne and Viļānu” has been launched in the European Regional Development Fund of the City Council of Rezekne. The municipality of Rezekne is a partner of that project and, during the project, conducts a major road and street conversion work on 13 paths of the asphalt or double surface treatment cover.
The roads to be rebuilt in Rezekne municipality were selected on the basis of the demand of the economic operators and their participation in the achievement of the project objectives.
One of the roads, the construction of which was completed within the framework of the project “Establishment of industrial sites for the promotion of entrepreneurship in the municipality of Rezekne, Rezekne and Viļānu”, is Liga Street in Lipuškos (1.521 km), which was built and asphalted. As the reconstruction works are over, the Citizens' Day festival and the official opening of the road were organised at the initiative of the citizens.
The event took place on a beautiful and warm day, on June 8. Almost all the people and visitors of the Lipušku village took part. At the beginning of the festival, in the songs of songs, the lent over the new asphalted road was cut by the representatives of our administration: the head of the “Kaunatas parish association” of the municipality of Rezekne, Jānis Aleksanans, Kaunatas parish and Mākoņkalna parish administration head, Sergei Bashmakov and parish housekeeper Rolands Kalvis, as well as Member of Rezekne District Council, Stanislavs Skesters. The road was fired BY a Mākoņkalna liner set “Super beam”, the leader of the association, John Alexandre, danced the ladies, thus checking the quality of the street cover. The leader of the event, Regina Trule, noted that this year is about 50 years since the building was built.
After the road had been danced, the folklore pools and chapel led them all along the Liga Street to the People's House. On the way there was a number of stops that had given names that characterized the occupation, skills, or names of the inhabitants of the nearby homes: “Vetdoctors”, “directors”, “Janis”, “Liga kalns”, “crossroads”, “office”. In each stop, the residents of Liga Street houses presented their home. On the hill of Liga, which was on the hill, and on which the Liga Festival was celebrated in the 90 s, Jāņi and a burned pre-royal fire were fired. There was Stanislav Squester, who was the initiator of the festival. There was the Liga songs, all of them with Jāņu cheese and beer. A fire on the People's House was brought from the fire with the torches to burn the “memory fire” later.
At Mākoņkalna, the People's House took place on the second part of the festival - “Memory Firewall”, with which the former Soviet farms had gathered. sovhoza “Mākoņkalns” employees because this year the sovhoz celebrates the 55 th anniversary. This memorandum of memory took place at the initiative of former employees. The history of the farm was briefly presented by Tamara Kudrjavceva and Nikolai Lobanov. Then the memories followed, where former directors, agronomers, engineers, zootechnicians, brigadiers, and other staff. The meeting with songs was accompanied BY Mākoņkalna women's ensemble and Russian song ensemble, as well as the “Super beam” line. The poetry of the former accounting officer Irina Tarasov was also read.
After the official part, everyone was fond of the raft and stew, which had been prepared by the housewife An and Maria, as well as Lilith and Sergei. In the course of the evening there was an 80-year-old songs, and everyone could dance with the sound of the music. There were interesting games and attractions between the dances.
The success of this event should be thanks to its initiator and organizer Mākoņkalna, head of the Steering Council, Wanda Zarembai.
