Since the state of emergency announced in the country, Sakstagala Jānis KCo. in elementary school is taking place remotely. The remote learning process has led us to collect all our creative energy, to respond quickly and flexibly to change. Children learn children, teach teachers, parents and grandparents take part in the learning process.
Thanks to this process, teachers and educators learn new digital tools, learn to plan their time. We all have something new for us. There are currently a large number of different material on learning planning and progress, numerous video conferences, live shows, guidelines for the implementation of remote learning have been developed, many e-platforms give free offers. THE TV channel “your class” is also used. We can see that many pupils have gambled on the execution of tasks that create genuine joy. But, of course, it depends on the individual motivation and sense of responsibility of the pupil. Remote learning requires greater self-discipline of pupils. It teaches the better planning of their time, knowing where teachers are needed and who are more responsible for their own. The new situation for pupils is a good school of self-sufficiency, a very valuable experience.
The Internet problems of pupils and the lack of smart devices were resolved in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Science (IZM) and the educational administration of Rezekne, when the four families came to tablets or telephones. “Good morning!” from their first phone was received every morning. It is also a new experience. It is pleasant that many pupils also send good wishes to teachers along with their works. This time has given us a new chance to clean up and improve the culture of contact as teachers and classmates.
In remote learning, teachers need to be much more involved in both the task of providing tasks, the maintenance of feedback and the counselling of pupils. We found that the remote learning process is not an obstacle to creating beautiful jobs, achieving good results. There is also no shortage of curiosity when a presentation of a forest is created instead of barley, a moss model is constructed instead of a cell model.
By communicating with pupils, we know that many yearned to go to school, meet with classmates and teachers.
