Modern technologies are introduced in schools

In January of that year, eight Rēzekne municipality, within the framework of the school information project, received portable computers and multimedia kit sets, including interactive blackboards, projectors, data cameras, software computers and interactive blackboards. In addition to this, schools also acquired new facilities for natural sciences, which were not originally intended for the project. “In future, our pupils in the learning process will have the opportunity to further exploit the opportunities offered by modern technologies, which will make the acquisition of knowledge much more exciting,” the project coordinator Eduards Medvedev says.

“Now students can film their experiments with the help of a data camera, but by physics or chemistry, you can see the graphics and histograms that you get on your computer. An interesting feature of new technologies is the projection of three-dimensional models that allow students to see, for example, how a human heart might look,” explains the project coordinator.
It should be noted that the information project of educational institutions is introduced in nine schools of Rezekne municipality: Gaigalavas at elementary school, Sakstagala Jānis KCo at elementary school, Maltas 2 nd secondary school unit in elementary school, Gaigalavas primary school units AT Rikavas primary school, Audriņu at basic school, Feimaņu at basic school, Kalnzeru Catholic elementary school, Maltas at secondary school and Verham primary school.
The informatisation of educational institutions takes place throughout Latvia, while Rezekne municipality is one of the first to have already received the new hardware. “At the beginning of last year, at nine our schools were upgraded to internet networks, the new equipment has now been delivered and installed, but by mid-year it is planned that the schools will also receive 77 stationary computers. These are very necessary because, after compiling the data, we concluded that the beginning of this school year in the above nine educational establishments did not contain almost any computer under three to five years of age,” E.Medvedev says about the activities of the project.
The planned project costs amount to approximately 100 thousand lats, which WILL be covered BY the European Regional Development Fund IN the amount OF 100%.
The official project name is “Information of the educational institutions of the municipality of Rezekne”. Its number - 2010/0010/3DP/3 .2 .2 .1 .2/09/IPIA/VIAA/605.
