Ozolaines youth project receives funding for the realization of their ideas

At the end of 2014, according to a mutually agreed agreement between THE MINISTRY of Culture of THE LR and the “South Latgale NGO Support Centre” (No. 5.1-8-34) on the performance of individual public administration tasks in the field of civil society development and intercultural dialogue, the Latgale NGO project programme was launched, which aims to promote initiatives of civil society of the Latgale planning region, participation of the population and intercultural dialogue, including minority activities. In this project competition, “intercultural dialogue/minority initiatives” was supported BY Ozolaines parish youth project “young people”. Action. Dialogue '.
The project has been developed in collaboration with THE Ozolaines parish association “Latgale multimedia workshop”, the “intercultural dialogue/minority initiatives” in the supported field. The aim of the project is to promote the active civic awareness of young people in Rēzekne, promoting unity and developing cooperation with young people, as well as learning skills in the organisation of intercultural dialogue measures aimed at building society's mutual understanding and cohesion and the reduction of stereotypes.
The project will contribute TO the integration of Ozolaines young people and the creation of mutual understanding by promoting a sense of belonging to Latvia while activating the intercultural dialogue and mutual respect and understanding of all local societies. For this purpose, a number of activities are envisaged in the project, such as an interactive seminar – a discussion on “intercultural dialogue”; training courses for the acquisition of photo and video skills and computer skills for young people with a view to creating a video clip in the context of the project theme at the end of the project; involving local people in a conversation on project topics, organising a three-day expedition - a cycling on the Rēzekne municipality with the aim of interviewing the population on the topic “characterising their neighbourhood” etc.
Out of 23 projects submitted in the sub-programme of intercultural dialogue/minority initiatives, five Latgale societies received funding for their ideas. Among the performers who received funding for the realization of their ideas is THE Ozolaines parish association “Latgale multimedia workshop” (1102.00 EURO).
Project “young man.” Action. The dialogue will be launched in February 2015 and will be concluded in June 2015. The activities are intended to be carried out in the municipality OF Rēzekne Ozolaines, Rēzekne and Rezekne.
