Ozolaines parish administration cares about the preservation of the Kamppies prayer house

In May 2015, the municipality of Rezekne issued a draft competition for the award of co-financing of the municipality of Rezekne for the preservation of cultural monuments of local and national significance, ensuring the use of historical buildings in the interest of the public, creating a multi-cultural environment and the integration of society. Ozolaines parish administration prepared and submitted a project aimed at carrying out a complete technical survey of the Community prayer of the Old Believers of Campbell and preparing a plan for successive requests for renovation and restoration of the house.
In the context of the competition, five projects were supported, including the Community prayer project of the Old Believers of Campbell, which was designed in two parts.
The first round of the project is planned: the general cultural historical survey of the building; recommendations for the performance of emergency conservation and improvement works, priority works in the desired order; the survey of preparedness, risk factors of deficiencies; construction of the building (basics, walls, covers, roof structures, windows and doors, floors, ventilation, heating etc.) technical condition survey; identification of building engineering security etc. A contract is concluded with SIA “CONVENTS”, the architect Peter Bloom, who is also a representative of the Riga Castle Council. Contract amount -- EUR 2650,53. The works are scheduled to be completed on 17 November of that year.
The second round of the project plans to restore/manufacture and install nine wooden windows. The costs of planned works included in the project shall be estimated AT EUR 5136,00. The works are planned to be launched in November of that year.
The cultural monument of the National Defence Cultural Heritage of local significance is located in THE territory OF Ozolaines parish. The first prayer of Old Believers at Ozolaines parish was built in 1791. During the revolution, the archive of the parish burned, so the events of the 19 th century and the causes of the burning of the house remain unknown. The new Community prayer of the Old Believers of Campbell (National Defence No 5840) was built between 1931 and 1937 after the architect Vladimir Schervinska.
