Creative workshops “build a dream house” AT Dricānu secondary school

IN the framework OF THE ESF project 8.3.2.2/16/I/001 “Support for the development of individual competences of educatees”, two creative workshops STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) and environment for primary and primary school students are planned in the 2018/2019 school year.
On Thursday, 29 November, the first creative workshop “Build a dreamhouse” in classes 4-5 was held in cooperation with the European Centre for the Development of Education and Innovation at Dricānu.
In workshops, children had the task of constructing their dream house from the other materials used. While working in groups, pupils created joint jobs while developing their own abilities and talent, as well as acquiring knowledge in the field.
At the beginning of the lesson, the leader of the creative workshops Lolita and Elvita gave a small presentation on what the prerequisites were to successfully build a house in which they could live. It showed what architectural styles were and what kind of dream houses were not only in imagination but also in reality – in the world and here in Latvia.
Inspired by what had been seen and heard, the pupils were invited to implement their own ambitions and build a house. Over the course of several hours, the pupils were busy using a variety of recycling materials. It must be said that the fantasy and imagination of children are one-off, as a result of the dreams of dreams! At the end of the lesson, each presented their performance.
