“The first day of travellers took place in Razna NP's 10-year anniversary. The weekends have been filled with various events in the summer, and we are pleased with the number of tourist service providers and visitors involved in the event. The weather was spoiled on Saturday, and it encouraged many families and friends to visit the area and spend the day in nature. Many visitors acknowledged that they had learned a lot about Razna's national park, including tourism products, interesting activities,“ Razna ”manager of the Nature Education Centre of the Nature Protection Administration of Latvia, Regina Indriķe.

Razna National Park is a specially protected nature area where the values of nature and landscape help to detect the trail of the Androupenes marsh, the stone path and the large Liepukalna view tower. There are also tourist attractions - Mākoņkalns, Androupenes Rural City and Lūznavas Manor. The travelers' day was full of impressions and unusual feelings for tourists in interesting objects - a cane-roof workshop, bee estate, guitar workshop, museums private collections, sail boat “Sea esta” etc. Among the first travellers were 13 local entrepreneurs, the Jaundomes Manor Environmental Education Centre and the Nature Protection Administration Nature Education Centre “Razna”, Lūznavas manor and museum “Andrupenes laku parta”.

Visitors had the opportunity to get acquainted with the fish smoking process, to find out about jobs in bees, to work with clay, to taste self-baked bread and herbal tea, to explore natural values and to visit cultural history monuments. As a result of cooperation with the Latvian Natural Fund, the travellers' day had an opportunity to look at the open-air exhibition and watch the film about the big rebellion. Visitors to this day were also expected to play a variety of games and creative workshops at the Nature Education Centre “Razna”, K.Kelšs drawings exhibition and J.Stashule poetry. The surroundings of the lake, the pine forests on the oscillating terrain forms, could be acquainted with the towlers and the dancers, and there was not much for him. The cyclists rounded a circular route of approximately 43 km from Lipuški to Andrupeni and back, the hooters - about 10 km long from the lake of Salai along the lake of the tears to the Andrupenei.

“Natural tourism in special areas of conservation is a development perspective. Latvian nature, national parks are our advantage. Travellers, especially foreign travellers, are increasingly interested in them. It is important to give the tourist the opportunity to explore not only natural values but also the specific farming, cultural heritage, traditions of the region. Entrepreneurs, acting in the territory of Razna National Park, perform a significant work in the development of natural tourism supply and rural environment in a specially protected nature area. We hope that the 10-year-anniversary of Razna NP will become an annual tradition,” says Anda Zeize, Director of the Environmental Protection Administration Latgale Regional Administration.

The event was organised by the Latgale Regional Administration of Latgale in cooperation with Razna NP territories entrepreneurs and local governments.
