Implemented project “Development of the public Internet access points of Rezekne municipality”

The need to use public internet access point services is increasing every year as the number of digital services is increasing, whose use not only facilitates everyday but also saves resources. A new and improved existing public Internet access point (PIPP) infrastructure in the area of Rezekne District has been created and improved in the implementation of the project “Progress of the Public Internet Access Points of Rezekne”, ensuring the possibilities of every citizen or municipality to access the Internet free of charge, in order to obtain the necessary information for educational, work or recreational purposes, use electronic State, local government institutions, banking and e-mail services.
The project was implemented over the period from 1.10.2014 to 30.06.2015, with a total amount of 139 475.44 EURO, of which ERDF funding – 118 554.13 EURO or 85%, State budget grant to municipalities 5 230.32 EURO or 3.751 TP1T and municipal co-financing of 15 690.99 EURO or 11.251 TP1T.
It was planned to create 19 new and complete 18 existing PIPETTES, of which 30 Internet access points with access to computer hardware and a wireless internet access area is available at seven points. The project resulted in 37 public internet access points with 97 modern computers, 37 wireless internet connections and 30 printing and digitisation equipment that will provide all the people of Rezekne with 100 % public internet access points in the vicinity of their place of residence, as well as the publicity of the project. There will also be a higher Internet quality at existing points - wireless internet access throughout the day at least 50 metres in radius (open field) around the public Internet access point.

THE PIPETTE visitor will be given the opportunity to authorize a smart card on all Internet portals. In public internet access points with access to computer technology, THE printing and digitisation of A4 and A3 paper will be ensured, as well as visitors will be able to connect and operate their own media to the Internet, as well as to carry out verification of the software harmful to the media.
All purchased equipment has a 5-year warranty. The project provides a steady FLOW of PIPP for at least five years!
