Education

On 5 January, the second semester of the school year has begun with the long-standing opportunity for the 4 th class students of Rezekne to learn swimming skills. The implementation of swimming lessons is possible thanks to the initiative of the Rēzekne municipality's child-youth sports school and the support of the municipality of Rezekne.

The lessons take place in Rēzekne's 5 th high school swimming pool. They are led by a certified swimming coach, sports pedagogy Diana Gosteva. Each swimming group (19-25 children) is one, 40 minutes long. 215 students from 23 schools are involved in training.

7-9 years is the desired age period when swimming is to be started. Swimming not only improves the physical and psychological condition of the child but also develops and disrupts comprehensively, improving the thermoregulation mechanism by increasing the immune system. Body static load decreases in water. The load on the child's spine is reduced, which is not yet fully secured. In the water, the body of the child is properly shaped, a good story is formed. Active leg movements in the water prevent the formation of a flat foot. Children learn to be safe and active in the aquatic environment.
Systematic swimming makes it possible to develop circulatory system organs and respiratory system. Improved heartbeat, chest movement. The amount of lung increases.
The skills earned in earning lessons do not disappear and remain in the rest of the life.
