In order to promote students' interest in engineering professions, to improve the general and special technical knowledge and skills of children and young people, as well as to promote co-operation of THE LEGO robotics group of educational institutions and to promote THE LEGO robotics among children and young people, the Jaunjjan elementary school in cooperation with the Rēzekne municipality's educational administration and the administration of Strujan parish in the Centre for Cultural Culture of Saint-Gans were organised by the LEGO Robotics Competition of Rezekne on 24 March. The event included six teams from Rezekne municipality, one of the cities, like Gulbenes, Preiļi, Viļāniem and Aknastes.
The participants in the competition were divided into two disciplines LEGO sumo and LEGO Line Tracking using constructor Mindstorms NXT2 .0 and e3-based robots.
Judges were student trainers and teachers, as well as volunteers.
IN THE DISCIPLINE of LEGO sumo, the best performance was Gulbene's state-of-the-art country family Herman Petruchen (coach Dzintars Ziediņš), the second result of the Rhozeknier, a representative of the Eastern Latvian creative service centre Juris Vaņkovs (coach Edmunds Kadakovskis), in third place - Jānis Eglīša Preilis State Gymnasium, Mārtiņam Ulpem (coach Juris Erts).
In THE LEGO line-up, the trial was held in three groups, the first best result of Normund Kokins from Jānis Eglītis Preilis County (Juris Erts), Gustav Greene from the Nautre Secondary School (coach Ivars igaunis), third Cynthia Potapoo and Solveigai Lozdai from the High School of Malta (coach Janis Šaudins).
In the second group, the line-tracking route was already slightly more complex, and here the best performance of Richard Raitim Mikelim from Kaunas High School (coach Evita Cairiaa), the second result of Andris Mazuram Nautrene High School, bronze Patrick Dāim Freiveld, from Gulbene, is led by the national family (coach Dzintars). In the third group, the line-up was an additional task - an obstacle clearance, and in this discipline the first was Maria Ovita Talkiu from the Kaunas High School (coach Evita Cairiah), the second result of Edgar Vonogam from the Nautre High School (coach Ivars igaunis).
The event was discovered by the head of the municipality of Rēzekne, the head of the educational administration of the municipality of Rezekne, Guntars ants, who wished the success of all the participants, as well as noted that a good material technical base for the creative activity of the pupils was created in many of the municipality schools: “we are participating in various projects to buy different things for pupils. In several schools there are LEGO robot sets that don't always afford to afford, we have modern printers, sewing machines, our pupils have wide opportunities to operate. '
The organiser of competitions and the main judge, Ivars igrais, are satisfied with the events of the event: “We are pleased that we have a lot of visitors, and we are also pleased with the support of the municipality. I believe that the first robotic tournament in Rezekne District has succeeded! '
In April, in April, the next event will take place in Malta.
22 April at 10.00 – 17.00 in the Multi-Functional Hall of Malta (5, Malta, Rezekne municipality) will take place in an ambitious event “Latvian Robotics Championship RTA 2018” organised by the Faculty of Engineering of the Rēzekne Technology Academy (RTA) in collaboration with the Rēzekne District Council.
The goal of competitions is to promote the interest of young people in engineering and develop robotics in Latgale region.
“The origins of the idea were to be found when RTA was just beginning to form racing robots. For several years, the idea of organising robotic competitions on our side and participating in them to improve the spirit of competition among themselves and improve the quality of the fight was developed,” says RTA's professional bachelor study programme “mehatronika” graduate Kārlis Pigožnis, who, together with RTA guest lector Daini maple, is responsible for ensuring that these types of competitions take place in Rezekne's municipality and ensure that they are as exciting as possible.
RTA engineer faculty decane Erika Turumnieks says: "RTA students have gained experience of robotic competitions by participating in various types and level competitions both in Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania. We have now understood that we are ready to organize and participate in competitions. We hope that the championship will be the participants not only from the students but also from the school youth. RTA manages interest education activities in technical sectors, including robotics, the Rezekne municipality for five years, and a group of young people who have become a heartbeat have formed. It should be noted that without the Rēzekne municipality, it would not be possible.
Students, pupils, amateurs, as well as any interested party are invited to participate in competitions. No age limit exists. "
