Rogovka Multifunctional Youth Initiative Center opened in Rezekne

The Roman Youth Centre has acquired a new status - a multifunctional youth initiative centre! On 18 June, the formal opening of the centre was held. The coming rogovans and villages were welcomed by the Chairman OF the Rēzekne District Council Monvīds Švarcs, head of the educational administration Lilija Žukovskis, head of the education, cultural and sports committee Anita Zogota, as well AS Livija Plavinska, head of the administration of Nautrēnu.
Following the opening of the festive tape and the opening of the door, the concert was provided by members of the Rogovka youth centre, presenting the equipment and inventory possibilities purchased.
In the course of the day, visitors also used the creative workshops offered, while the evening could listen to a concert in which the invited guests were played – Daugavpils group “Dabasu Durovys” and “ansamblis manta” from Riga.
In June 2014, the Latvian-Swiss cooperation programme “Support for the development of youth initiatives in remote or low-developed regions of Latvia” concluded a contract with the Rēzekne municipality and the youth international programme agency on the implementation of the sub-project “Multifunctional Youth Initiative Centre Rogovka”. The total amount of the project amounts to EUR 87373,18, including the municipal co-financing of EUR 5200.
The funding was spent on the renovation works of the building and the purchase of equipment and equipment needed for young people. Sports equipment, audio-video and computer equipment, sound and light equipment, and household equipment for the acquisition and development of skills of various young people were purchased.
The aim of the project is to improve the quality of life of young people by promoting their initiatives, offering opportunities for efficient use of the free time, providing appropriate activities for the development of young people, offering the organisation of youth-oriented practice cycles in a favourable and friendly environment through informal learning.
The project is financed by the Swiss Confederation from the cooperation programme of Latvia and Switzerland to the enlarged European Union.
