The municipality of Rezekne launches the development of the Rēzekne District Development Programme 2019-2025

On 7 December 2017, a decision was taken at the meeting of the Rēzekne District Council “on the launching of the development of the Rēzekne District Development Programme 2019-2025” (protok. No. 28, § 1). In the framework of the Decision, the work task and deadlines for the development of the development programme were confirmed, as well as the development programme development management team.
According to the adopted decision, a local government medium-term development planning document will be drawn up for the next 7 years, which will set medium-term priorities and measures for the implementation of the long-term setting-up of the municipality. The development programme will be developed in accordance with the Sustainable Development Strategy of Rezekne 2033, assessing the planning documents of the national level, Latgale planning region and adjacent local governments. The development programme will include the description of the existing situation, the strategic part, the action and investment plan and the implementation and monitoring of the development programme.
The management group of the development programme includes: Chairman OF the Rēzekne District Council Monvīds Švarcs, Deputy Chairman of the Rēzekne District Council, Elhusband Pizane, Executive Director of the municipality of Rezekne, Jānis Troška, Members of the Rēzekne District Council (Chairman of the Standing Committee on Economic Development Affairs, Staņislavs Skesters, Chairman OF the Standing Committee on Education, Culture and Sport Guntis Rasims and Regina Baranova, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Social and Health Affairs), as well as the Head of the Finance and accounting department of the municipality of Rēzekne, Silvija Ančikovska and the Rēzekne District Development Planner League, Romanzuka. Anna Jaudzema, head of the development planning department of the municipality of Rezekne, was approved as the manager of the programme.
Development of the development planning document will last until December 2018. The development of a fully-fledged development programme is not conceivable without public participation. The development of the development programme is therefore intended to involve a variety of public engagement activities, including participation of citizens, businesses, representatives of public institutions and other stakeholders in thematic (sectoral) working groups, population questionnaires and organisation of meetings. The local government of the municipality of Rezekne will continue to inform the local government of the possibility of taking part in the development of the development programme in the www.rezeknesnovads.lv and newspaper “Ambassador of Rezekne”.
