Children of Ukrainian soldiers in Rēzekne municipality

From July 29 to August 2, THE Rēzekne municipality is a camp for children from Ukraine, whose parents are soldiers in the Ukrainian armed forces and the Ukrainian National Guard. The camp is organized by the centre of the youth guard.
On 30 July, the camp was visited by Minister of Defence Dr Artis Pabriks, Ambassador of Ukraine to Latvia Alexander Michenko and the National Armed Forces Superlocator Elmar Pļaviņš. The Vice-President of the Rēzekne council, Elhusband Pizane, head of THE Maltas parish administration, Vitalijs ants, VTP44T High School Director Vinera Deme.
Minister of Defence Dr Artis Pabriks said that Latvia is going through Ukraine and is happy to welcome Ukrainian children.
Ukrainian Ambassador to Latvia Alexander Michenko said that Ukraine highly appreciates Latvia's support: “these children have survived the horror of the military conflict, and such visits to Latvia allow them to gain new friends, nice impressions.
Latvia is a very positive example of how a small country is gradually able to organize everything. There is a lot of discussion in Ukraine about the benefits of the country's participation in the European Union, and THE Maltas school is an excellent example of how a local government organizes an educational institution with European funds. "
For the sixth year, the Latvian defence sector provides support to Ukrainian soldiers and their families as a result of the military conflict. A new tradition was launched in 2017 - the New Guard organizes the camp in the summer of the Ukrainian armed forces and the Ukrainian National Guard soldiers so they can rest, meet young guards and go into shared adventures.
