Rikava takes place in the volleyball of young people.

In summer, young people have a lot of opportunities to spend their free time. The active activity of rikava takes place at the school stadium. Both boys and girls play a volleyball. In order to involve young people in the volleyball competition during the summer period, Rikavas young Christops, Eric and Ervin Tsarudi decided to organise a volleyball competition at a scale.
The work began with the elaboration of the law and the production of affixations. When the ad was “launched in the peoples”, there was a competition preparatory work -- a professional competition judge, a necessary inventory, an improved volleyball area, purchased medals and diplomas, etc.
On July 16, the first volleyball tournament in Mix teams took place in Rikava. 7 teams had appeared on this event. “STR” and “21” from Sherjans, “antennas” from Vecjjans, “ol for free” from Rogovka and “Rikava”, “3D” and “Latgalians” from Rikavas. The teams had arrived with their supporters and supporters.
The game was judged by an experienced sports game judge from Viļāniem Janis Opincans.
The team's strength was different, so it was interesting to watch the games.
In the afternoon, the competition was finished and the sequence of places was cleared: 1 st place “antennas” from Vecjjans, 2 nd place “21” from Shergans, 3 rd place for the team “ol for free” from Rogovka.
As the competition was due, the winners were awarding. The first third-place winners received medals with volleyball symbols and diplomas.
Rikavas experienced the first experience of organising competitions. Hopefully this experience will develop and the volleyball competition in Rikava will continue.
