Education

On April 23, students of Classes 3-4 of the High School, Maria Borisovsky, Yelena Bažanova, Valentine Belajevo, and pupils' parents Natalia Mazure, Galina Gromova went into a study excursion to Razna National Park. Razna National Park is a place where Latgale – blue lakes – natural values and savour the beauty of landscapes.
First we visited the Nature Education Centre “Razna”, located in the territory of Razna National Park – Rezekne municipality, Mākoņkalna parish in Lipuškos, where we took part in the activities of natural sciences and visited the exhibition “acquainted and feel Razna National Park!” We knew much about it, but we learned more thanks to the interesting and exciting narrative of the leaders.
Then we went to Makoņua, one of the highest Latgale hills, located near Lake Razna (249 m v.j.l.). As we climbed the hill, we counted all the steps. The children listened with great interest to the stories of the sinking Palace of Volkenberg and looked around, as such a wonderful view from the mountain to Razna Lake (the second largest lake in Latvia by area) had not yet seen! AT THE level OF Mākoņkalna, we also saw the clear Ubagov lake, which was called Latgale's clear eye.
In a miracle and joy, by apologizing from Mākoņkalna, we went on to conquer the great Liepukalna, located in the parish OF Rēzekne, IN THE parish OF Kaunatas, 3 km north-east of the Dubuys. Big Liepukalns (289.3 m.v.j.l.) is Latgale highest and Latvia's third highest peak. The highest wooden view tower in Latvia (34 m) is built at the Grand Liepukalna summit, with a wonderful view of the surrounding landscape, Razna and other lakes. The most courageous, of course, saw all that, and even a strong wind of wind did not disturb the excitement of this wonderful view from above. These were the memorable moments for all of us!
I went to Azzer with a little tired, but a lot of beautiful impressions. Azzer is the Lake Dagda municipality in the Ezernieki and Andzelis parish. It is the largest lake in Latvia and even throughout the Baltic. We knew there were 36 islands in the lake and wanted to count them all. We saw a lot of lake islands in the Piloros oak tree.
The oak grove is one of the few clean oak stands in Latvia, where oak is approximately 200 years. We had never been in an oak woods that attracted his power and beauty!
In order to be more exciting in our excursion and to provide more knowledge, after seeing these natural objects in Razna National Park, we went to Aglona, where we saw the Lakes of Cirish and the Aglona Basilica, an important cultural centre of the Catholics of Latvia.
Our excursion ended in Preilos, where we visited one of the most important rural parks of Latvia, whose territory contains many ponds and canals, growing 25 species trees and bushes, among them several great trees. We saw several buildings belonging to the Preiles Manor complex – the Castle of Preiles, the chapel, the gatehouse, the stables, three gates. They are all architectural monuments of national significance.
And, of_course, in Preilos, we couldn't walk past the miniature kingdom and the doll gallery! There we got into a world of fairy tales and fantasies, where we were delighted and excited about the fantasy of the masters and the realization of our dreams!
Thank our parents, who were with us during the excursion.
Thank YOU FOR THE Silmalas parish administration, which provided us with a bus and special thanks to our bus driver, Evalda Lebanon, who came up with us in a big Liepukalna view tower and made our excursion memorable!
Tired but happy and brilliant, we returned home with thoughts that were exciting, interesting and exciting.
