The President of the State gave the environmental quality mark “green certificate” to two guest houses of Rezekne municipality

On 25 January, the President of Latvia - President of Latvia - “green certificate” Patron Raimonds Vejonis and Minister for Environmental Protection and Regional Development Kaspars Gerhards passed the environmental quality mark “green certificate” to 22 rural tourism holdings, among which two houses of Rezekne municipality - “Green Island” and “Azarrosti”. Last year, applicants for the “green certificate” were surveyed and were decided to grant or extend the certificate. Recommendations for further improvement of the activity were also provided for each holding. The most representative examples of recommendations: identify other green certificates in the area of the farm and cooperate; identify and provide visitors with information on the nearest electric cars and toll points, consider the possibility of creating an e-recharging site on the farm; explore the mobile application “environmental SOS”, prepare information for customers on biodiversity and the nature values of the neighborhood, try to install or adapt space for people with special needs.
Among the twenty-six surveyed holdings, the Commission decided not to grant or extend the “green certificate” to four applicants who do not meet the minimum criteria, such as no waste sorting, and no progress has been made since the previous survey.
