National Guard 3. Latgale Brigade in military training “Namejs 2021” starts field tactic exercise

From 18 to 26 September, the National Guard 3. Latgale Brigade will implement a field tactic exercise during the military training “Namejs 2021”, examining the ability of battalions to perform tasks in the event of conventional threat. The active phase of the exercise will take place between 25 and 26 September in the territories of many municipalities in Latgale, Vidzeme and Celia, to previously agreed land properties.

In the territory of Rezekne municipality, the active phase will take place in the following parish areas:

  • Griškanes, Stalerova - National Guard 32 nd Introducer Battalion
  • Feimaņi and Pusha - National Guard 35 th Introducer Battalion

Several hundred national guardsmen and soldiers from the National Guard 3 will participate in the military exercise. Latgale team units, including reserve soldiers, as well as national guardsmen and soldiers from other National Guard Brigades and Allies from the Canadian and Lithuanian armed forces.

In the framework of collective training, actions under different threat conditions will be trained, as well as improved command-command capabilities, enhanced cooperation between subunits and verified unit capacity to plan and implement defence operations involving mobilisation resources.

The military training of the National Armed Forces “Namejs 2021” is already reported to be held throughout Latvia from August 30 to October 3, which aims to verify and improve the willingness of units to expand to the fulfilment of national defence tasks, both independently and within the framework of the collective defence system.

The 32 nd Introducer Battalion of the National Guard, during the active phase of the military training “Namejs 2021”, will perform training tasks between 24 and 26 September and move through State and local government roads in the municipality of Rēzekne and the parish of Stalerova.

Residents are encouraged not to worry, seeing military equipment, soldiers and militia in uniform with weapons also outside military landfills and unit placements. We call for an understanding of the potential temporary burdens of traffic movements that may arise due to the movement of military equipment by road.

During the performance of the tasks, training ammunition and combat simulation products that create noise but do not endanger human health and life will be used. However, if it is found, it must not be touched. Fire safety and environmental protection requirements will be respected during military training. The areas used during these days will be cleaned after military training.
