Welcome to the Fishermen's Festival in Nagļi!
Nagļi is delighted and proud this year – the Fisherman Festival is going to happen again this summer!
For several decades, since the Festival was established in Nagles, these sporting and scandalous festivals have gathered and enjoyed very many. Unfortunately, for two years, the covidence was not organised, but this summer, on 9 July, the festival will be!
With the pleasure of the coming festival, the soul also had a tremendous tremendous note – this time the festival will be without the energetic and very bright leader – Jānis Macan. But it is a pleasure that Jānis was always working in a crowded team, so he had successfully educated the young generation in the field of festival. Therefore, young people will be creative in this year: the main organizer of the festival sport is Raivis Kusevskis, but the “festival voice” or the head of the event will be Armands Kupčs.
Nagļu is very pleased that the Fisherman Festival will not be used IN Nagļi but the entire Dricānu association together. The heads of parish administrations and cultural workers gathered repeatedly until they formed a good festive plan. In both the financial sector and the labour force, every parish. THE leader of THE Dricānu association Andrejs Tārauds is proud of his excellent team and is convinced that the festival will succeed, where both fishing, sport and art will come together again.
And a green-ball - Zaļumballe! The concert would be a ricky green-ball, with midges, a delightful July night scent, and the best music! A group of young talented musicians Imants Spitch and Ralph Arbidan.
The fishermen Festival are one of the longest traditions in Rēzekne District, first in 1996. Anna Macāne, a resident of Īdeņa village, says: “The idea of organising such festivals came when both of them were young, mad and summer traveling through sports festivals in various Latvian provinces. So, once, when we drove from Veselava, it occurred to me that what could happen to us? There have been 23 festivals from that time, which were held with great pleasure and enthusiasm, not expecting anyone to pay for it. We had the biggest working day in the summer – all day sport, dancing all night!”
The fishing festival in Latvia on the second Sunday of July is usually held at sea villages, but Nagļu Festival is the only thing that occurs inland, as the residents of Luban Lake's surroundings have been engaged in fishing from ancient times.
