Volunteering - Active life position!

Social Department

Volunteering is a globally recognised and popular way for citizens to engage in public life and transform, improve their own quality of life through both national and non-governmental organisations.
In March of that year, THE LSK Rēzekne Committee hosts a co-operation partner from the Norwegian Ministry OF Oplands (Oppland) to participate in the planning meeting on the development of volunteering in the committee, city and municipality with representatives of the Rēzekne Committee working groups, the Rezekne City and the municipality. More emphasis was placed on volunteering in the social field. In Norway, voluntary work in home care is of particular importance where the so-called “time observers” arrive alongside social carers. These volunteers turn to their customers 1-2 times a week and fill their free time, reading, walking for a walk, playing table games, creating jobs, and_so_on.
In September, the Norwegian SEE Oppland colleagues will once again visit the Rēzekne Committee to conduct a seminar on volunteering, psychological first aid, volunteering in the social field.
Therefore, we call on representatives of non-governmental organisations and municipalities who coordinate volunteering, as well as other stakeholders who wish to obtain an idea of volunteering or wish to participate in volunteering, to send an application for electronic e-mail, the name of the organisation or the name of a private lsk.rezekne@redcross.lv, who wishes to participate in the September training, by 15 May of that year.

Gunta Krukovsky,
Executive Director of THE LSK Rēzekne Committee
