Youth training "find out and act!“ ”
During the spring holidays of the pupils – 14 and 15 March, SIA ALAAS co-operated with DAP and AS “Latvian Green Electron” “first organised 2 day environmental training for young people,, learn and act!”. 20 young people from Rēzekne and Dricānu secondary schools, Rēzekne State Polish Gymnasia and Maltas children and youth centre took part in the training.
Young people learned topics during the seminar:
- Waste, their breakdown. Waste sorting, sorting significance and benefits. Waste to be used for processing - paper, plastic, glass. The second life of the waste. Waste as a resource.
- Packaging. Batteries and electrical goods.
- Specially protected areas and species - what and why we protect.
- Ecosystems and ecosystem services.
- Practical part - awareness-raising games for the education of children and peers in environmental education.
The joy that young people took a very active part in training, played a lot of awareness games, learned new skills. The acquired knowledge will be able to be used by young people by educating both peers and adults. These young people will also be voluntary assistants in environmental festivals, to be green! “”, which SIA ALAAS will organise for the first time on 26 May AT Lūznavas in Manor.
After training, young people received certificates confirming their knowledge and skills.
