The educational institutions of Latgale region collect 113,3 tonnes of maculatics

At the end of the 2010-2020202020202020 school year, the “green belt” was closed, with more than 1000 thousand children from 407 educational institutions collected 907 tons of 79 kg of maculatics in conjunction with families for processing. 63 educational establishments were represented in the Latgale region competition with 113,286 tonnes of maculatics. Berzpils High School pupils won 2 nd place at national level after the volume of the collected maculation per institution student.
The “clean-up” competition for “clean Latvia” has become one of the most important environmental projects with hundreds of educational institutions from all over Latvia each year. This year is the year of the 16 th contest, which has resulted in 907 tonnes of collected maculatics, which took place in new paper, thermal insulation materials, new paper and cardboard articles, saving considerable amount of water and electricity, as well as saving money and saving thousands of trees from felling, “explains the“ green belt ”representative Laima Kublina.
The most active educational institution in Latgale region is the 2 nd secondary school of Preiles, whose students, collecting 6.956 tons of maculatics, have acquired 1 st place in Latgale. Ludza's 2 nd secondary school pupils took 5.908 tons of maculatics for processing, while Nautrēnu secondary school pupils collected 3.808 tons of maculatics.
In this year of school, the biggest achievements of the Latgale region in the collection of maculatorship are for the city and municipality of Rezekne. With the participation of 17 educational institutions, 34,013 tons of sculptures have been removed from Rezekne. The most active sculptors in Rezekne municipality this year learn Nautrēnu in secondary school (collected 3.808 tons of maculatics), Audriņu in primary school (collected 3.800 tons of maculatics), Rezekne's primary school (collected 3.5 tons of maculatics), Feimaņu at primary school (collected 3 tons of maculatics) and Tiskad High School (collected 2.5 tons of maculatics).
In Daugavpils City and the municipality competition “clean Latvia” was represented by 12 educational institutions, which were transported to 19,943 tons of maculatics for processing. The most active school institutions are the secondary school of Daugavpils Centre, which has been transferred by students for processing to 3.3 tons of maculatics, the 24 th pre-school educational institution of Daugavpils City, whose students have collected 3.150 tons of maculatics, and Daugavpils 3 rd High School, whose pupils collected 2.557 tons of maculatics for recycling.
This year, an 8 educational institution was represented by 8 educational institutions, collecting 13,380 tons of unnecessary paper. The most active municipality schools this year is the primary school of the station, whose students have collected 3.460 tons of maculatics, a prize national gymnasium, which has been transferred for processing by 3.05 tons of maculatics, as well as Berzpils High School with a collection of 2.42 tons of maculatics, and Tilja High School, whose students levy 2.22 tons of unnecessary paper for processing.
This year special achievements in Berzpils secondary school students. By collecting on average every 220 kg of maculatics, Berzpils High School pupils are the most charming sculptors in Latgale, and won 2 nd place at national level after the collection of the collected maculature to one institution of the institution. ON average, Audriņu primary school pupils have collected 95 kg of maculatics, while the young people of Latvia's red cross Kraslava, Dagda, Aglona District Committee Dagda Division have taken an average of 77,5 kg of maculatics for each processing.
The winners of the competition prizes will receive excellent prizes from the competition organizer “green belt” and supporters “Latvian State Forests”, adventure park “Tarzans”, SIA “Urban Services”, “Electrum” Energy Efficiency Centre and “tele 2”. The exportation of the maculature from the educational institutions and the delivery to the processing was handled by SIA “Līgatne paper”, SIA “Balticfloc” and SIA “AROUND the pile”. The competition is organised with the support of the State Education Content Centre and the Latvian Merchant Association.

The recycling of the paper allows for a significant preservation of natural values, as the production of new paper from the maculator requires less energy of 70% and less than 60% less water compared to wood production from wood. The recycling of the paper reduces the emissions of climate change gases such AS CO2 – 900 g/kg., N02 and SO2 emissions to air, as well as the pollution of water by chlorine compounds from bleaching facilities.
