In Rezekne, food packages will be delivered to pupils from low-income, poor, multi-child and guardian families

The Rēzekne municipality council adopted a decision to provide allowance for food at the meeting of 2 April. in general educational institutions and pre-school educational institutions for children of poor, low-income, multinational or guardian families in the circumstances of emergency situation and the provision of remote education. Recipients of the benefit – the persons declared by the Rezekne municipality. Amount of the benefit – one euro per day. The calculation will be performed from 13 March, when the school was interrupted, except for holidays, public holidays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Food packages shall be packaged and delivered to parish administration once in two weeks. The parish management staff will be given methodological guidance on how to set up them so that children receive a more complete diet as far as possible and that the contents of the packages do not duplicate the European support fund for food packages “European aid package for the most deprived”, which contains a wide range of products produced in Latvia - flour, oil, steamed pork, Manna, dry milk, dry egg mixture, dry potato puree, concentrated milk, other products – a total of 15 goods.
The municipal social service of Rezekne has calculated that there are 1208 children who are in compliance with that target group. Parcels after their assembly are taken out by parish management employees.
