The partnership of the Rēzekne District Communities is developing a “community-led local development strategy 2014-2020”

At the beginning of August, the Ministry of Agriculture approved the project submission drawn up by the association “Rēzekne District Communities Partnership” (hereinafter “partnership”) for the Latvian rural development programme 2014-2020 “Support FOR local development of LEADER (local development of society)”, which means the development of a local development strategy for the new programming period. The development strategy will be developed according to the area of operation of the partnership, including the Rēzekne municipality and the Vilnius municipality.
The development strategy will be based on an evaluation of the implementation of the “Local Development Strategy” of the “Local Development Strategy” of the European Partnership for Rural Development Programme 2007-2013 of the European Partnership for Rural Development of the Rēzekne District Communities 2007-2013, within which the questionnaires of the population and project implementers were carried out in the partnership area. During the course of the study, thematic discussions were also held, where the views and proposals of entrepreneurs, non-governmental organisations and local government representatives were clarified. The results of the study can be found on the website of the partnership (www.rezeknespartneriba.lv). The needs and ideas of the population in the improvement of the local area were established in the “Rēzekne municipality and Vilnius Municipalities Forum”, which took place in April of that year.
In assessing the priorities of the rural development programme 2014-2020, the results of the study and the population Forum concluded that the new LEADER programming period should support entrepreneurship (especially rural tourism, diversification of rural economies for businesses and household production). It is also important to promote the development of the local area (in the field of social care, the preservation of natural and cultural objects, the preservation of cultural heritage, the diversification of sports and other leisure activities), which improves rural life and makes it more friendly for families and attractiveness for local residents, as well as for visitors to the territory.
In autumn of that year, the strategy will be presented and presented to the local population. Every citizen is invited to participate in the working groups of the strategy, as well as to provide its own ideas and proposals that should still be included in the new strategy by e-mail (info@rezeknespartneriba.lv). For more information and in the login team, call your phone: 64607183.
The developed strategy shall be submitted to the Rural Support Service by 3 December 2015, which will be evaluated by the Commission established by the Ministry of Agriculture.
