From Monday, July 22, a call centre set up by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development will be launched, where citizens will be able to find answers to questions of interest in relation to the administrative territorial reform of local governments implemented by the Ministry when calling 68 806 999.

“To successfully implement municipal reform, it is important for us that communication operates in both directions, both to identify all opinions and to provide the public with as much information as possible. We're open for communication. On August 2, Daugavpils will conclude official consultations with local government members and meet with Latvian residents, which will last until spring of the following year. I am convinced that the call centre will provide important additional information and help identify specific issues of local problems in each region, thus helping, with the information gathered in the expert studies, both to prepare for negotiations with citizens and to improve the reform offer developed by the Ministry,” says Minister J.Pūce.
In order to inform citizens about the reform, respond to topical issues, as well as listen to opinions and recommendations, a special centre for local government reform will work on Monday 22 July. When you call 68 806 999, the advice will be given to the people in working days at 9:00 – 17:00. It will also be possible for operators to leave their contact information to receive an email address. Questions and proposals can also be sent to the Ministry in writing: reforma@varam.gov.lv.
To date, the people have been focusing on the benefits of the reform and the possibilities of attending meetings of the Minister for public consultation with local government.
The questions in the call centre will be answered by operators from SIA “BPO Liepaja”.
