Representatives of the Adamovas boarding school participated in the Comenius project in Turkey
Adamov's special boarding school sports teacher Zaiga Ivanova, project manager Tatjana Yushkāne and three pupils: Madars Homich, Alīna brass and Martin oak participated in the “Comenius” School Multilateral Partnership Project “Creating basic competences in career education”, which took place in Turkey between 22 and 28 March.
Four national delegations (Latvia, Poland, Italy and Lithuania) welcomed the co-operation partners – the local Ylovas School, where the participants of the project presented the results of the survey carried out within the framework of the project, conducted their analysis and comparisons, discussed their career education opportunities.
Students and teachers surveyed the Ylova region, visited a local paper museum where the paper production process could be found. As they drove into the mountains, the vast plantations of olive trees opened, familiar with the local agricultural plant. The children were given the opportunity to act on their own by drawing up, storing and preparing soil for planting.
The Turkish representatives presented the city of Istanbul, its surroundings and famous traditions. An impressive trip was a bridge connecting Europe to Asia. In two memorable days, Istanbul watched historical sites: monasteries, castles, underground water tank, mosques, museums. We drove through the Bosfort Sea Gulf, from which I could watch Turkish architecture, famous bridges, dolphins and jellies.
The participants also gained an idea of traditional Turkish kitchen, dance, culture, festive traditions.
The project gave students a better understanding of European culture, life skills, communication, the use of language skills, which is an integral part of today.
The final phase of the project will continue very soon – in May, Latvia, Adamowa Special Inboarding School. For a quick meeting!
