In Anchupans, the commemoration of the victims of the Second World War is honoured
On May 8, a solemn event was held in the renewed Anchupan Memorandum about the defamation of Nazism and the commemoration of the victims of the Second World War. During the event, Professor of the Higher School of Rezekne, the history doctorate Vladislav Malahovskis, gave a reflection on the events of the Second World War and the role of Anchupan memorial in the history of historical events: “The Anchupan mountains still hold many memories and experience. Although it has been about 70 years since the tragic events, it is important to mention the tragedy that abducted thousands of innocent thousands of innocent people throughout Latvia, including a number of thousands of people in the Anchupan mountain grave. 'By holding flowers, candles and photographs with people whose lives stopped during the Second World War, THE students of THE Audriņu primary school had prepared a literary composition, honouring the victims of the 254 Second World War from THE parish OF Audriņu. At the end of the event, when the flowers had already taken place at the foot of the monument“ mother apple ”, the attendants were invited to retain their memories of the victims of Nazism terror, but at the same time appreciate and enjoy their lives in a peaceful manner, as said in the words of the memorial wall:“ they died to live ”.
It should be noted that the Anchupan Memorial has experienced significant changes during the last year – attracting the assets of Estonia – Latvia – Russia's cross-border project, reconstruction of the existing cobbled stone cover, wall wall wall, renowned stairways and built-in car park. In the area around the monument, “mother apple” is surrounded by a pale granite brutal, while a granite postament placed at the entrance in the memorial. Similarly, the memorial constructed ramps that enable it to be viewed by people with reduced mobility.
